The Three Coins of St. Nicholas Christmas Ornament
St. Nicholas is perhaps best known for saving three poor maidens from being sold into slavery by dropping three bags of gold down the chimney of their house. The three coins in this ornament are symbolic of this act and of St. Nicholas, patron saint of children, sailors, travelers, pawn-brokers, students, orphans, and judges. He is known as a protector of all in trouble or need. Which is pretty much everybody you know, have ever met, or ever will meet. A token of your caring.
Made in the USA by Carrie Fertig of imitation rhodium over brass. The mirror-like finish will make light dance all over your room. Beautiful in a window or on your tree. Comes with its history on the back of the box and hangs from a green hanging cord. Slightly larger than 7x7cm (slightly smaller than 3x3").
